2009 Varsity

The 2009 Varsity Football Team had many highlights.

After starting 8 - 0 (The best start in school history) and being ranked as high as 12th, the Knights made the play-offs for the eighth consecutive year and were able to finish 9 - 3 overall and 5 - 2 in the CVC.

Some of the highlights of the season were:
  • the 42 - 14 victory over Center on the dedication of their new stadium,
  • the 22 - 21 come-from-behind victory over Natomas,
  • the 37 -21 Homecoming victory over Cosumnes Oaks that was televised,
  • the 40 - 7 win over Antelope on Senior Night,
  • the 37 - 26 come-from-behind victory over Bella Vista in the play-offs,
  • and practicing on Thanksgiving Day!
There were also many individual accomplishments and outstanding performances capped off by Cameron Mikell breaking the school rushing record with over 2,100 yards!

Both Cameron and Alex Khan Watson will be playing in the KCRA Holiday Classic on December 26th at Grant High School at 1:00 p.m.
